Five years ago, in Jingdezhen—a city with a thousand-year history of porcelain, renowned both domestically and internationally—the total value of ceramic production was as low as RMB 2 to 3 billion. However, recent developments have shown a dramatic transformation. At a recent conference held in Jingdezhen, Feng Linhua, a member of the Standing Committee of the Jingdezhen Municipal Committee and the city's deputy mayor, revealed for the first time that in 2010, the value of ceramic production in the city had surpassed 16 billion yuan. This remarkable growth highlights the booming revival of the ceramic industry, which has become a major driver of economic development in the region. In addition to boosting industrial output, the ceramics sector has significantly contributed to the city's fiscal revenue. By 2010, Jingdezhen's financial income had reached 5.3 billion yuan, marking a substantial increase compared to previous years. The success of the ceramic industry not only reflects the city's deep-rooted craftsmanship but also its growing role in the national and global markets.
