Hey there! Did you hear about Kid’s Clothes Week coming up again soon? Meg stopped by to share all the exciting details about the upcoming season. Let me pass it over to her.
Hi everyone! If you're someone who loves sewing clothes for kids, you've probably already heard of Kid’s Clothes Week (KCW). It’s a fun sewing challenge where you dedicate an hour each day for seven days to make clothes for your kids. KCW happens four times a year, once per season, and it's always such a blast to participate!

This season, we have a special theme to guide our sewing projects—DISGUISE! Our awesome contributors have shared tons of creative ideas on how to incorporate the theme into our designs. From everyday disguises your kids can wear to clever details like pockets shaped like kittens or sharks, the possibilities are endless.

1. Costumes for the dress-up bin
2. Everyday disguises
3. Hidden in plain sight
4. Subtle disguises
Oliver + S patterns have always been a fantastic starting point for creating disguises. These patterns are simple enough to modify while being durable enough to withstand repeated wear. Unlike those super-thin, flimsy, and expensive store-bought costumes, these handmade versions will last through countless adventures. Here are some of my favorite costume-inspired Oliver + S patterns (check out the pictures below). Some of these were even created during past KCWs!

1. Skeleton fairy
2. Evel Knievel
3. Madeline
4. Sheriff Woody
5. Fox
6. Snow White
The best Oliver + S pattern for disguises has got to be the Cozy Winter Hood from their book *Little Things to Sew*. Who wouldn’t want a hat with ears?

From bat ears to bear ears, Yoda ears to elephant ears, this pattern works for every kind of disguise imaginable. Switch up the fabric to a pretty lawn for a springtime bunny bonnet, or add white sherpa and black felt for a cozy panda hat perfect for winter.

1. Bat hat
2. Cozy winter hood
3. Yoda
4. Lone wolf
5. Pink elephant
6. Peter Rabbit
7. Elusive moose
8. Raised by wolves
9. Winnie the Pooh
No matter what disguise your child can imagine, you can create it! You might even finish in time for Halloween if you join Kid’s Clothes Week. It’s fast approaching—October 19th to October 25th. Don’t miss out—sign up now!

Spread the word by adding a button to your blog or social media pages and get everyone you know involved in this KCW!

I hope you’re inspired to dive into some creative sewing projects. Happy sewing, and don’t forget to tag your creations with #KidsClothesWeek so we can see what you’ve made!
