If you've been meaning to sew up the Liesl + Co. Classic Shirt but haven't gotten around to it yet, now's the perfect time to dive in! We're thrilled to announce that we'll be hosting a Classic Shirt sew-along from May 8th to May 12th. We hope you'll join us for this fun and inspiring event!
**Pattern Description**
This wardrobe essential is both versatile and polished, making it a must-have in any closet. The pattern offers separate pieces for A/B, C, and D cup sizes, ensuring a great fit for everyone. It also includes professional details such as a separate collar and collar band, tower sleeve placket, and collar and cuff facings to help you create beautifully tailored shirts. View A comes with a set-in placket and workshirt-style pockets, while View B features a continuous cut-on placket along with pleated pockets that have concealed button flaps.
When the pattern first came out, it was highly praised by many. Liesl has already shared some fantastic resources for you, including styling ideas, fabric suggestions, faux flat-felled seams, machine bartack tutorials, shirt gusset instructions, and tips for adding three contrast details.
**Classic Shirt Sew-Along Schedule**
*Day 1:* Create the wearer’s right set-in placket (View A), make the continuous cut-on placket (View A and B), close the darts, and construct and attach the pockets (View A).
*Day 2:* Complete the pockets and flaps (View B).
*Day 3:* Assemble the back and yoke, attach the shirt fronts, and make and attach the collar band.
*Day 4:* Prepare the collar, attach the collar to the collar band, and make the sleeve placket.
*Day 5:* Sew the sleeves, cuffs, hem, and finish the shirt.
**How to Participate**
Make sure you have your pattern—whether in paper or digital format. Gather your fabric and sewing supplies, and we’ll see you here on the blog starting May 8th!
