Bangladesh demand for textile raw materials

In Bangladesh, where there are many people in many places and where resources are scarce, the main industry is labor-intensive garment manufacturing. Nowadays, Bangladesh garment manufacturing industry has made rapid progress. Most of the country's clothing is created by garment exports.

The huge clothing industry in Bangladesh has created a huge demand for textile raw materials. India and China's textile raw material manufacturers have been watching this fertile market. However, in the competition, the Chinese textile industry has made great strides and left its Indian counterparts out of "a few streets." To this end, the Indian textile industry is taking various measures to regain its constantly losing market share.

The Times of India reported on March 10 that entrepreneurs in the Indian textile industry are working to expand the market share in Bangladesh to ease the impact of Chinese counterparts in the past few years.

Sanjay, a partner of Calcutta FM Textile Company, said at the International Week of Minority (IEW) that Bangladesh is an innate partner country of the Indian textile industry, but China is consolidating its own pace in Bangladesh and its Indian counterparts have been affected. The textile industry is one of the important industries in India. Consolidating the market share of Bangladesh will play a significant role in promoting the textile industry. The textile trade between India and Bangladesh is closely related. There is only one Surat area (PS: Surat is rich in cotton cloth), and the value of textiles exported to Bangladesh reached 10 billion rupees.

The International Week of Nationalities provides buyers and sellers with a B2B trading platform. A total of 1,000 Indian companies and 400 international companies participate. They are from the United States, the United Kingdom, Bangladesh, Dubai, Cambodia and other countries and regions. The organizer and moderator of the event week is the “Surat Dream” of the textile industry organization in Gujarat. The "Surat Dream" expects that the total expected turnover in the week of activity will reach 10 billion rupees.

According to industry insider Siddharth Feb, India and Bangladesh are close to each other, but the Chinese textile industry has benefited from this. About 130 Bangladeshi textile traders arrived at the International Week of the People's Republic of China and negotiated with traders from various countries.

According to Mohammad Shahidul Alam, representative of the Bangladesh Joint Impex Trading Company, we came to India to purchase fabrics, and Surat, India and other places are popular places for purchasing these materials. Another Bangladeshi trade representative, Mohammad Wahid Murad, stated that most of the ethnic garments produced in Bangladesh are digested by the domestic market. Cities such as Dhaka, Chittagong, and Shelette in Bangladesh are huge garment consumption centers. Since India is adjacent to Bangladesh, Bangladesh prefers to establish a trading relationship with Indian companies.

Bangladesh, which has a large population and lacks of resources, has no basis for the development of other industries, and the relatively low threshold of labor-intensive industrial clothing manufacturing has become the country's first choice. Bangladesh, with its low labor cost and skilled manufacturing skills, has quickly become a world-class apparel manufacturing base. Accompanied by this, Bangladesh’s demand for textile raw materials continues to grow, and it will eventually become a must for textile raw material manufacturers in various countries.
